2019 Masters showcase

The School of Journalism cordially invites you to its annual graduate showcase at the University of Regina’s Shu-Box Theatre on Oct. 17, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Four documentaries filmed in Canada, Nigeria and India (details below) will be screened. The evening will also include a reading from graduate student Alvin Ntibinyane’s book project.

CAGES
From the reserve to residential schools to urban life to prison, CAGES examines the connections between prisons and residential schools in Canada. Producer/Director Annette Ermine

TORN APART
This documentary investigates the psychological impacts of terrorism on three families whose lives were torn apart after their terrifying experiences with Nigerian terrorists, Boko Haram. Producer/Director – Chinenye Anokwuru

A QUIET LOVE LETTER
Society, media and the world at large teach us that girls are prized for their beauty. Long hair is beauty, femininity and sex appeal. Many women crave acceptance and conform to meet male expectations—often not realizing they are losing their own true self. Other women resist—the consequences of which is often isolation. HUSH, HUSH
This quirky, poignant and heart-felt documentary takes the viewer inside a candid conversation about what sexual harassment is and how it differs from sexual assault. Producer/Director – Celine Grimard
